Another Op’nin’, Another Show
The title is from the 1948 Cole Porter musical, Kiss Me, Kate. Our recent recital was a set of musical numbers but, alas, that song was not among them. I’m Just a Girl Who Can’t Say “No” was, however, along with The Witch is Dead from Glee (not The Wizard of Oz), the fabulous I Know Him so Well, and the haunting Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera.
We all had fun, and the audience had the opportunity to show off their knowledge of musicals by way of a quiz Janine, our MD, set for them. The winner—with all songs correctly attributed—walked away with a box of chocolates.
The following Tuesday, we had our End of Term Bring and Share, and were fortunate that it was nice enough for us to congregate outside.
There was food, as well. We didn’t just drink.
